My Entrecard Dashboard is clogged

Just a brief note to all of the list of advertisers (paid Entrecard list only) - my dashboard is completely clogged. It has taken me all day until 7.15 pm to actually get onto the site. I currently have over 31 adverts for showing and have no plans to currently accept any more.

LATEST NEWS: I am now having adverts appearing on my blog that I haven't yet approved and none of the previous paid adverts are dropping off my line. Does anyone know how long they stay there .... my dash is completely jammed ... help!

I have given this much thought - and as by accepting paid ads, it would mean that those who advertise on my blog would lose half of their time in the slot I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO ACCEPT ANY ADVERTS OTHER THAN THE USUAL ORDINARY EC ONES FROM NOW ON.

NOTE ADDED SUNDAY, 12 APRIL

How often should a Blogger check their widget? Apparently, several times each day .... I have all of my settings turned off with the exception of ...

/ Allow Entrecard users to apply for advertising on your widget? Here are my settings below ...

Until very recently I always had the first two ticked on ... that was to allow anyone that had advertised on my blog previously the courtesy of being able to have their advert approved without waiting. I hope to be able to turn this back on at some stage but I am finding that I am having to rigorously police my widget!!!!!! WHY - simply because I still am finding 'wild card' unapproved adverts randomly appearing which require me to keep sending messages to the Admin.

I am NOT accepting any paid ads at the moment..

I want to give the chance to normal Entrecarders... It's not fair for those who have paid with credits now only get 50% (if that) of the time showing on the blogs.

I posted about it as well..

Omigosh...I am in the same boat! My question is...(and maybe you can answer it because I can't find it anywhere else)Am I supposed to put something on my blog where these ads are shown or are they just going on the EC widget? What about the non-paying customers? Are they pushed aside until all these paying ones are finished? And why don't they show up in the "my ads" section of the dashboard? LOLOL Is that enough questions for you...sorry...just venting!

Hi Polly, I logged on this am to find over 50 paid ads waiting for approval. After I changed the settings to be "my category only" and they weren't. so I just rejected every single one. Then I sent a support request to Entrecard asking what the bleep is going on! Waiting for their response. Don't waste the time evaluating them, just reject them all! Maybe someone will figure it out.

STACI said...

I'm having the same problem as well. It seems like all I've done since last night is go through the paid ads. I also keep getting multiple requests from the same people, even when I reject them. I may just have to start rejecting them all, too, even the ones I have approved. If I knew that it was going to be a constant onslaught, I'm not so sure I would have stuck around. Plus, the majority of blogs I dropped on last night had one of the same three paid ads showing, not an actual blog. That frustrated me as well because it didn't seem like the 50/50 split they were talking about.

Lynne said...

I have the same problem and I don't like it one bit. I don't even want to buy ads with my EC because I have no idea if they'll ever run. This new "paid" system is leaving me questioning what I'm doing with EC.

Marjie said...

I have the same problem sweetie, and I still have at least 15 pending that I didn't even bother to approve or reject. I don't get why the ones I approved yesterday are still on my list though, even the ones I've seen appeared on my widget. Totally confused right now. It's annoying having to deal with them really!

polly count me in to the tune of over 68 first thing this morning, and even more as the afternoon grew longer.

this is crazy.
watch your bouncerate skyrocket and entrecard's pockets get fat.

is this what blogging is supposed to be about ?

nahhhhhhh..

stop by our blog, and please leave your comment and also take a moment to answer our poll.

i have more than dozens too and they seem to show more than once. waaaaaaaaaaah!!! I like the old EC technique though. Is there any penalty for not accepting these paid ad's?

They indeed clog my account.

Lidian said...

Polly - I've been rejecting ads all through the day - at least 20 on both blogs. I just do not know what to do...I did like EC so much but I just don't know. Am just hanging on for a little bit more but I feel like I'm probably going to leave. If I do I will definitely stay in touch with you and a LOT of others, put you on my Google Reader or Follow or something.

Have the same problem. I hope some will continue to send entrecard adver. Because now it looks like only paid will be showing. I did learn I could limit the amount coming in. so I did that, waiting to see if it works. until then I am doing the same as you, rejecting the paid adds. my que is filled at the moment.I will accept those paid that a constant visitor and leave comments on my sites:-)

Badong said...

same pronlem. actually surprised by the overwhelming number of paid advertisements waiting for me. screw them.

Dorothy L said...

Yup...it has turned into a damn nightmare...I am actually clicking on cmf adds just to get my 300 drops in because i cannot access entrecard to get to my needed drops..

They are definitely challenging the more loyal blogger here.

I have my links blogroll and I am leaning towards concentrating on my immediate family.

Stress where blogging is concerned is not on my priority list!

Nothing good comes from something so full of angst and that is all I see these day within the entrrecard walls.

Just know that you are not alone!

Dorothy L said...

Hello... take notice to your mail inquiry. The only time you get a request through mail is with a legitimate entrecard request. All the adds are just hanging around which you have the option to reject with a click:)
So far that is what I have determined.

Duni said...

Same here. I have over forty paid ads (some duplicate) and the normal EC ads don't seem to show up at all.

EastCoastLife said...

I'm having the same problem. I rejected them and they came back again. I approved some regular Entrecard droppers but may have to reject later ones. :(

BK said...

Dorothy is right, there is an option at the column where you can see all the advertisers that you had approved. EC has created two headings, one is for normal advertisers who bought ads using EC credit and the other is for paid ads. You can choose to reject all those paid ads if you do not want them to run.

I accidentally approved two of them, which I canceled later.

Beth said...

same here Polly.. I was like.. why am I having too much adverts now ?

kruel74 said...

I actually don't understand at all this things

Auntie E said...

I hope your Que is looking better. I did catch a few get buy without my approval.found if I canceled them they still stayed. so the rejection is the best option for me. I will have to let the others run their course.:-)

Stacey said...

I have the same problem. The ads I rejected are appearing. I rejected all paid ads and still get them. I was very ticked off this morning to find an offensive site on my daughters widget.

Waterrose said...

I'm right there with you. I was so angry last night because a EC popped up on my blog that was totally inappropriate. I immediately removed the EC widget and reported to help. They have set my setting so that no more ads pop up unless I approve them. I'm very close to not accepting any paid ads, since it causes the EC paid ads to only run 50% of the time...and I don't think that's fair. Since the ECer had to pay full price for 50% of the time. Nor do we get anything from running the paid ads. Sorry for the rant.

Amy Lilley Designs said...

Polly, I have canceled all of the paid ads, all 40-50 of them since yesterday and was very mad when I saw one that had not even approved up there on my blog...everyone is having the same problem...and the promise of no nudity...not true...

The Fitness Diva said...

I'm finding it all a bit crazy!

I have approved those who have advertised on me before, but the others, not!
I woke up this morning to about 50 in the queue. Rejecting them all is becoming a job within itself!
Also, no EC advertisers today! I usually have new ones by now! :(

Sharon said...

This is a total nightmare! Ads are appearing on my site that were cancelled. I finally checked the box that says no ads except in my category (History)! And how many of those do you think there are! Ha-ha. Came to the same decision...NO PAID ADS!

heidi said...

mine is too. I am confused.

Mr. New Dilemma said...

I too am not accepting any paid ads at this time, so stop on buy and get your ad on my site the old fashion way, lol.

sheila said...

I am not accepting any paid ads at all, my loyalty is to the people who have paid credits to advertise on my site. Instead, I contributed to ECs upkeep by buying credits and Paid ads - that way everyone makes out. I'm also going to try to get some kind of list of people who aren't accepting ads, I think people should be able to know what they are getting when they plunk down XXXX amount of credits. When your ad is at 4096, that is $24 - for 24 hours, that is a lot of money and then ec expects you to only show that ad half the time?

Arlene said...

Hi Polly, i just rejected all the request to be fair with the free ads. And for now, i still don't fully understand the paid ec scheme. I will wait for more good updates that at least 99% of EC dropers will agree on. :)

B Boys Mom said...

I'm doing the same thing. I only excepted 2 paid ones before thinking this is crazy!

Jo Hoffacker said...

I'm with you! No paid ads on my site.

I was in the same boat....
go over and read my angry rant about entrecard here: http://candlesandcrafts.blogspot.com

This is why it is happening, and I am not happy about it either!!!

SLColman said...

I noticed that if I rejected paid ads that they dropped me down to the bottom of my category after all the hard work and dropping to get moved up to the first page in it :( So unfair!!

Chic Gal said...

I am not accepting any paid ads either. It's not fair to those who have bought ads with credits. I liked things the way they were.

Scotty's Princess said...

I hate how these paid ads clog into my dashboard. I never counted them but you can just imagine how plenty there are! I have never rejected any ads from my sites but sorry to say, that for the last couple of days, I've made a very hard decision and decided to reject all those widgets that I know are paid.

It makes me sick that I can see some familiar widgets paying for the slots, too! And what's even more frustrating is that the ones running in my blog are those ads which I haven't even approved! They were automatically ran by the system pushing on the side all those efforts by members in purchasing the slots for ads with their hard-earned credits!

With these developments, I can not tell for how long I can manage to stay. I hope Graham Langdon would gather all his wits and senses back (if ever he has any)before he lose his loyal followings...

Kellie said...

Dang... I already accepted all of mine. GAH.. This new EC thing is kinda confusing. Makes me want to start a NEW card dropping blog advertising thing for non-businesses.

You know, I felt bad rejecting ads (unless, of course, I though they were inappropriate - and believe me, I've run across many paid aid sites that I thought were offensive)...

I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to reject all paid ads on my main page also - you're right, it's not fair to the regular advertisers.

I think I'll leave what I've already approved, but won't accept any more. I certainly don't want Entrecard to fold as it is a huge source of visitors for Pink Lemonade, but this is getting out of hand.

Auntie E said...

I am starting to get there. Not approving any new paid adds at this time. But I have notice the Adverts have declined! It would be nice to know who is not accepting paid adds so we can buy their blog space, with EC, for our Widgets.

Paul Baines said...

Hi Polly - why not take a stand with me and add a No To Paid EC Ads button? I'm campaigning for an option to block all paid ads - comes with a snazzy little button too - see the url for info ;)

Thank you for dropping on my site today.

I want to wish you a happy easter.

Im not accepting ANY paid ads just for that reason. My advertisers earned the credits they spent by advretiseing on my blog, and I plan on giving them ALL of it not just 50%.

So for anyone advertising on a top blog (Fort Thompson) you will get 100%.

Great post here my friend.

Have a great Easter Holiday!

Love and Prayers,

Tim

Do you even get a reply for EC? I have four inquiries sent with no replies! Very frustrating. I originally approved paid ads after checking them out, but I am totally rethinking my decision. I am inclined to cancel them all. What a hassle.

I don't understand the paid portion of entrecard so I'm not currently accepting paid ones unless they seem relevant to the material on my site. I've let maybe, two go through.

Good luck!
