The year is racing along and the early droop fruits are ripening quickly. Loganberries and raspberries are quickly darkening and becoming deep claret like a vintage wine. Rich in flavour with a slight tart back-bite they are reaching perfection. I've never tried it fresh. They look delicious!
One of the neighbours shared their raspberries with me since there won't be any fruit on our bushes until next year. :-)
We have been picking the wild Black Berries here for awhile. It is always a contest. Who gets them first. The birds or Us.
