Pussycat Mole

I have often admired the way that cats by their very nature happily blend in with their surroundings. When looking for my own little cat I often pass her without noticing that she is close by. She sits in the border in a variety of places and watches the world go by whilst remaining as still as a statue. One place that she sometimes may be found is in a flowerpot that is semi buried in the border. A variety of leafy plants hide the entrance and she weaves her way sideways to get inside the pot so that the entrance remains undisturbed. There she lies like a soft, velvety mole hiding in a hole.

Cats sure know how to find the comfy spots to watch the world go by. I sometimes envy them for their agility.

Our cats look alike and mine lay very still watching me all the time too. They are extremely patient creatures.

While Claudia and I were walking the other day we almost tripped over a cat behind a log. She let us know fast that she did not want to be bothered.

How adorable.

This reminds me of when I was looking for my cat and I couldn't find him in the usual spots - until I finally found him curled up behind the vacuum!

btw, thanks for your message about FBC - I'll check it out this weekend...

Meant to tell you yesterday. Your First Bloggers Badge is not linked up. I checked mine, and it wasn't either. Just thought you should know.

I often wonder what it's like to be a cat, lazing around all day! They seem to have an easy life. :-)

I love that second photo! Cats are awesome with their stillness abilities; five minutes into a meeting and I'm totally twitchy :o)

They really are experts at hiding when they want to, aren't they? I used to have a cat who, although he was about 20 pounds, could hide so well that I still couldn't find him even after tearing up the entire house looking for him. He'd keep me wondering where he was for about an hour or so, and then suddenly out of nowhere, I'd see him casually strolling around like nothing ever happened. (they ignore you when you call them during hiding time,too.. ;) ).
I could never figure out where the heck he had been! :)
