Gurkha petition

Your chance to put right an injustice to the few ... it costs nothing ... all that is required is your name on a petition on the Web. Please visit The Gurkha Justice Campaign Petition

The Gurkhas are the name that has been given to the soldiers that originate from Nepal and fight along side our troops. They have in many instances given their lives to save ours. There are a few of these brave men who left the service before 1997 and have been refused the right to live in our land. They are wonderful, lovely gentlemen who are asking for our help ... please visit the above link and if you can open your heart to them ... then please leave your name. Thank you. http://www.gurkhajustice.org.uk/

For those who may wish to find out a little more about the Gurkha's then a post has been written by a fellow blogger at The Spitting Vessel

Thank you for the link, I have added my name.
I've put a link to your post on my blog (I hope you don't mind) so that hopefully a few more people will add their names.
These brave men deserve better treatment - I believe they should automatically be given British citizenship, after all they are prepared to give their lives for this country and what thanks do they get?

Thank you Susan. I can't believe that they have to go to these lengths in order for these soldiers to have the same benefits of those who are currently serving. Utter madness - to hand out medals and yet not allow them the right to live here. It leaves me feeling so disappointed with those in power. Thank goodness for Joanna Lumley ... I just hope that she succeeeds - I have added my name too.

What a great idea. As an ex British Army soldier who has met some of these fine fellows in the past I was shocked at the original government action. At least the courts seem to have taken a dose of common sense in making their decision!
As I live overseas in Thailand I am not sure if I qualify to vote? (see form on residency.

It is a total disgrace that the government should treat ex-soldiers in this way. I have yet to meet anyone who agrees with it, and yet nothing is done. I cannot understand the government's point of view.

I did a post on the Gurkhas last September, when they were holding demonstrations in Parliament.

They did get Parliament to vote in their favor. I am going to the link you gave.

The post I did can be found here:
