Apologies Mike - it probably is because my posts are automatically uploaded to Twitter ... so there may have been quite a few trying to sign up. I managed to get on straight away just prior to uploaded the post onto the blog. Try again, I'm sure you'll get straight on next time.

Tell me why is this a good thing? I don't understand.

Jan, Wikipedia ask for Web references to any posts that you provide it with. So you could use one of your posts on your blog as a point of reference.

Watch out people. Unless you are an expert in your own fields, Wikipedia will just remove your link.

Definitely not for newbie. Experts will just treat your reference link as spamming.

Blog Traffic - I would never suggest that if you are a frequent author of Wikipedia that you should use your own blog reference regularly. Merely occasionally as they do like several references to confirm sources of information. Blogs are recommended to put sources down especially where facts are complicated and intricate.
