Year-after-year-after-year-after year fashion designers are leading women by the noses and taking the easy way out. For goodness sake I cannot be the only female on the planet who is fed up of seeing sleeveless dresses in every shop. Added to this, these flimsy frocks are offered only in two lengths … down to the floor like widow’s weeds or up to the thigh like a brothel’s uniform.
Where have all the T-dresses gone? We are constantly being told to cover up and protect our shoulders and tops of our arms and would like to do so whilst looking a little feminine so … designers/creators of fashion – please, please, please, please design something wearable for women. There is plenty of stuff out there for young girls in their teen and twenties …
I support the campaign … BRING BACK SLEEVES IN DRESSES .. do you? If you do please Blog/Tweet/Facebook something to spur the movement on.

I'm like lady banana, it's been ages since I've been in a dress. But I do agree that the fashion world seems to cater to the younger generation. The size that I have to buy it's almost impossible to find clothes that don't look like they belong on a teenager.
Well LB and Ann - I love dresses or frocks. I always have and feel more comfortable in a dress or a skirt than in slacks or jeans. I do feel frustrated however that it has become more and more difficult to find things that fit properly, are of the right length and have some kind of a sleeve - a quarter sleeve, cap sleeve, elbow sleeve or three-quarter sleeve .. these being the usual lengths over the centuries for Summertime wear. Nowadays most dresses are sleeveless which inevitably means that you have to wear a cardigan. Not only are the dresses sleeveless many are of the strappy variety too which then means that you cannot wear a bra. On top of this most are designed for either boy-like waistless people or apple shapes. If you place a belt around such a dress then it tends to look like you're wearing a sack of potatoes. Added to this the fact that dresses appear to be shorter than they used to be when minis were in fashion ... they are just now dipping below nicker length or as I have said before they trail on the floor like wee Willie Winkie's nightgown.
