We have all been Google'd. At least those of us who have installed ‘Followers’ in their sidebars. Along with many others, I have been gradually adding myself as a follower to many good and interesting blogs and then suddenly, out of the blue, during the week – I found that my ‘followers’ along with many others had plummeted … Across the Internet the ‘follow in public’ status had changed to anonymity. Not only that, but the only way of making your profile public again is to re-visit every single blog you are following and click on the follow icon once more and re-instate yourself.
Why would anyone want to follow a blog anonymously? Unless they perhaps wanted to be investigated by Spooks?
One good thing has come out of this change – bloggers can now follow many more blogs than before … for instance I now am able to follow Karen & Gerard Zemek‘s blog and also Mariuca’s.

I know I like this idea as well.I hope that you are having a great weekend.Mike G.said that(it's an A.A.thing)
What is Spooks? Hehe.. I am sure the anonymous doesn't want others to know what he follows. Everybody has their own little black book to fill with :)
There is a faster way to make your profile public. Go to your dashboard, then click on Manage to the bottom left of the list of blogs you follow. You will get a list of all blogs telling you whether you are public or anonymous. Just click on Settings to change.
Hi Polly! I've always been following blogs publicly, so hopefully I did not go missing on anybody's list!
YAY thanks so much for the linky love here dear! :):):)
Speaking of following.. I'm following you now too! I was quite bummed when so many followers dropped off! I only felt better after eating two snickers. I'm thinking of taking my widget off... it has made me a follower junkie!
I kinda like the change... now if I could bring my blog out of the depths of the unknown I actually have more followers xD.
Very nice blog you have here by the way :)
Hi Polly,
LOL.. Thank you for your explanation through my EntreCard. I read the message last night, but my internet is killing me. So I just went straight to sleep..
Oh, and I just finish my lab report! 33pages to be exact. It's good to see the end result at the end ;)
Happy Sunday Polly!
I've never really picked up many 'followers' but rss subscribers (for me) seems more popular
I've noted similar problems. It seems as if they are trying to combine the Follow Me from Blogger with Google Friend Connect. I've been using both and things are really messed up. Some are anonymous. Some aren't. Some show my friends. Some don't. It seems pretty random.
Well... I was going to say how you can change setting through your manage settings on your account... but I see Sheila beat me to it.
Although, I can imagine how long it would take if you had hundreds of blogs in that followers list!!
I'm one of your followers who would have dropped off the list for a day. After I realized what happened, I fixed my list asap :)
I just figured people were tired of following me...
i followed you!
No need to go to every blog you follow. Just go to your dashboard.
