I am still amazed to think that just a few powdery seeds brought back from Scotland has thrived into a wonderful golden mixture of poppies in my garden. Their colours now range from the palest of yellow to the deepest of orange with various shades of gold in between.
My original seeds, from a small immature poppy head, were collected from the palest of these beautiful yellow perennials – growing wild in a lane by the side of a picturesque loch.
